It is based on these premises that the 30 minutes television show “The Learner’s Cut” is born to bridge that gap by providing a platform and promoting short film productions ranging from students’ to experimental projects. The show also promotes the submission of short films for festivals and makes effort to reward true and genuine art and creativity.
How It Is
The Learner’s Cut is a TV Show aimed at encouraging short film makers and showcasing their works, interviewing the makers to share in their experiences and a special segment dedicated to discussing notions in film industry. The Learner’s Cut is not aimed at critiquing films but to encourage young filmmakers by providing a platform for Short Film makers to thrive. These short films will be sent to the company’s website www.dlongcommunications.com where 13 short films are selected for a season. Each episode will have portions devoted to three different segments. A special segment will be dedicated to showcase the film entirely. Also, the programme will rely largely on feedback from online platforms Segment One: (Film Notions) This segment will make effort to discuss and if need be debate some notions in filmmaking. Segment Two: (Meet the Maker) It’s the one on one interview with the maker of the week’s short film. A close – up with the filmmaker as to what the movie is about and how it was made. Segment Three: (The Film) This segment showcases the short film. The film should be between 7 – 10 minutes.
